/etc/ssh/sshd_config を見てみました。

PermitRootLogin no
ChallengeResponseAuthentication no
PasswordAuthentication no

となっていました。なるほど〜と納得は行きますが、やっかいですね。確認はし
てないですが、これが原因だと思います。
